how do prescription drug rebates work
Prescription drug rebates are post-sale payments that manufacturers give to pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) or health plans to secure formulary placement and preferred-tier status. The rebate size depends on competition and negotiated terms, and only part of it may reach the plan sponsor or patient. For PBM contract transparency, see RxPBM.
